Fanshawe adds 400 student beds, and a parking fight
The residence clears planning committee 6–2. The neighbourhood association says the parking study counted spaces that are already leased.

Planning committee approved a 400-bed student residence on Oxford Street East by a 6–2 vote, sending it to council on 9 September.
The applicant's parking study counted 240 nearby spaces as available. The neighbourhood association told the committee that 148 of them are leased to a hospital shuttle operator on a five-year term.
City planning staff said the study met the terms of reference. The terms of reference do not require lease status to be checked.
